Any government that demonizes its citizens’ past, tyrannizes their present and sabotages their future inherently forsakes all claims to legitimacy a thousand times over.
I want you to remember this. It’s simple. It’s straightforward. Most of all, it’s inarguable to the point that even attempting to oppose it would be a self-evident intellectual indictment against the person foolish enough to try. Whether it comes out of my mouth or someone else’s I can’t say and don’t particularly care, but I promise you those words will be spoken into a microphone in front of a crowd within the next handful of years.
My history isn’t perfect, but I can’t recall any modern government that has intentionally destroyed its own citizen’s past, present, and future. Ethnic minorities to benefit the majority sometimes, but never the dominant population that inevitably brings the whole house down with it. The Nazis killed citizens from many other countries, but tended to be pretty fond of their own (I’m aware of the exception, I just mentioned ethnic minorities). The CCP destroyed much of traditional Chinese culture and killed so many of its own citizens the estimated death toll can be followed by the phrase “give or take 10 or 20 million,” but if you didn’t notice, there are still quite a few of them and they seem to be on the upswing.
The Soviet Union comes closest- tens of millions of its own citizens slaughtered with utmost disdain for human life and definitely my most hated government personally. But even then, it was mostly targeted by class and there are still Russians, Ukrainians, Uzbeks, etc today. And despite multiple waves of terror and purges, Soviet citizens were still loyal enough (to their country if not the government in particular) to fight and win the largest, most brutal war in history. Meanwhile, not only would I not fight for my military, but I’m extra careful not to drop any change just in case someone who works for it picks it up. (I realize the situations aren’t perfectly equivalent and if Biden tried to issue Order 227, it would come out “Not an accordion sideways,” that’s not the point).
It doesn’t feel intuitively correct that we might be living under the most evil Regime in history. Probably because intuition is based upon evolutionary history and awareness of regular history and neither our bodies nor minds quite register what’s happening for what it is, because NO ONE HAS EVER FUCKING DONE IT BEFORE. It would be one thing if the people running things were like the Mongols annihilating entire peoples or the Romans salting the earth where Carthage once stood, but they’re the opposite: an incompetent, stupid, self-destructive, short-sighted, limp-wristed, weak-spirited, cowardly, virtueless kleptocratic gerontocracy. Some have gone as far as to claim that they could even be gay and retarded.
But above and beyond all of those traits, their defining characteristic is that they are traitorous. Dante placed betrayers in the lowest circle of Hell, yet ours proudly enjoy their time alongside Satan himself chastising the rest of us. And despite living in various levels of sin ourselves dispersed across many locations- be it America, Canada, Britain, France, or Ireland- one quality remains constant, and that is being inarguably, unambiguously above them. I’m not sure how conscious it is, but I suspect part of the relentless demoralization is fueled by that fact. Like an obese, alcoholic stepfather who verbally abuses his athletic 17-year-old stepson so much over the years, the kid doesn’t even realize how easily he could knock him out.
Forget being Caesar’s equal, Washington’s equal, or Roosevelt’s equal, they aren’t even my equal. That’s not arrogance talking; I can say the same for the majority of people I surround myself with and it probably applies to you, too. Here’s the thing, though: If we live under the most evil regime and it’s ruled by the most pathetic people, failing to rectify this issue will make us the most cowardly people to ever live. This isn’t up for debate, that’s just what it means. It’s how things are.
We’re ruled by people who inherited the greatest civilization known to man and are doing their best to bury it and who are all too happy to bury anyone with the capability of stopping them alongside it. I’m not asking you to do anything. I’m just saying we’re all going in the ground either way and it’s worth thinking long and hard about whether you would be at peace doing so knowing you were one of the most cowardly creatures to have ever walked on top of it.

Now write that on a blackboard 100 times and never forget it.
PS: The whole reason I started this Substack is live at becomepluribus.com, will have more articles relevant to the actual product and how it ties into the message here (“Yes, you too can avoid being a coward of historically unparalleled proportions if you act now!”) in the next week or two but I said what I had to. Fuck all this
